CANON
~ Harry Potter Fanart ~
It's the Fab Four, dressed as... the Fab Four.
Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs (6/3) - c.1960s, which reminded me of some other fab Brits - the Beatles! Their personalities even match up, so here they are in Sgt. Pepper uniforms: James (John Lennon), Peter (Ringo Starr), Sirius (Paul McCartney), and Remus (George Harrison). I was also giddy because I got watercolor to work, too!
Seamus Finnigan, overlooked Gryffindor
Seamus Finnigan (6/4) - Poor Seamus! He sounds like such a cool character and has such a cool backstory, but he hardly ever gets used in the books. I went for an all-green motif to experiment with monochromatics and also because he's Irish.
Alicia Spinnet, Angelina Johnson, and Katie Bell - Gryffindor girl power!
Gryffindor Chasers (6/5) - This is book 1-3's lineup with Alicia Spinnet, Angelina Johnson, and Katie Bell.  Angelina is the only character described, so I'll let you decide which is Katie and which is Alicia. The flesh looks too pink on one girl...
Dean Thomas, artistic Gryffindor
Dean Thomas (6/6) - Poor Dean's been utilized even less than Seamus. Still, this turned out very well, even though I hadn't planned him bald. If you squint, you can make out his drawings - West Ham, a soccer ball, a shamrock, and a lion.
Moaning Myrtle, disgruntled ghost
Moaning Myrtle (6/8) - It's puzzling. This didn't take very long (an hour or so), and it was spur of the moment, no thought put in, and yet this was one of my most commented works.  It's like I said on my Spritz page - you never know what people will like...
Four color schemes, four animals
House Mascots (6/9) - The oekaki got a nifty canvas size option feature, so I tried it out. The lion and eagle turned out good. FYI: Gryffindor: Red/yellow, a lion; Ravenclaw: Blue/bronze, an eagle; Hufflepuff: Yellow/black, a badger; Slytherin: Green/silver, a snake.
Lee Jordan, color commentator
Lee Jordan (6/11) - I really wanted to do a good job on Lee because I liked his game analysis. It had to be lively like his personality, so I settled on this impressionistic style. And this concludes drawings of all confirmed and alleged blacks in Harry Potter so far.
All four seekers. a birthday present for the guy that runs the Harry Potter oekaki; MS Paint
The Seekers (6/16) - This is unlike the other pictures here in that it was done on MS Paint and includes Harry, who I wasn't planning on drawing until later. The exceptions are because the oekaki webmaster was having a birthday. It looks alright, I guess. Ghost/Edward seemed to like it, which is good. ^^
Padma and Parvarti, twin gigglers
Patil Twins (6/27) - It's the non-Weasley twins! I mostly just drew them to reacquaint myself with oekaki. I'd finally gotten my term paper done after three weeks of self-imposed Internet banning. Whew!  I'm not sure they look Indian enough, though.
Justin and Ernie, Hufflepuff manly men
Hufflepuff guys (6/28) - The guys Harry's age in Hufflepuff, Justin Finch-Fletchley and Ernie McMillan. This marks my brief return to the 'basic oekaki board' style, where the use of tones is pretty good, but the drawing's a bit ucky. Ernie looks a bit too dorky.
These are illustrations placed in the order they were drawn. So far they are of minor Harry Potter characters - one day I'll draw the dream team, but not just now. If you want further comments, mouse over the thumbnails. Try art search if you're looking for a specific character.
