Art is drawn using Derwent graphic pencils, charcoal and graphite in a Strathmore Hardbound Sketchbook with acid-free, lightly textured pages. The tutorial is I Can Draw! 8 Volumes in 1 by George Carlson. Sketches are generally done once a week or so outdoors around Manhattan, and pages from the book are scanned in to be reproduced here.
